Setting Up Outlook 2002 and 2003

Once you have set up an email address (or addresses) in My Account, you can use Microsoft Outlook to check and manage your email. Be sure you have set up an address first before completing these steps

Basic Settings

1. Open Outlook.

2. Go to Tools > E-mail Accounts.

3. Select "Add a new e-mail account" and click "Next."

4. Select "POP3" and click "Next."

5. Enter the following:

  • User Information
    - Your Name: Enter your first and last name, or nick name
    - E-mail Address: Enter the email address you created (i.e. "username@clearwire.net", where "username" is the name you chose for the email address)
  • Server Information
    - Incoming mail server: mail.clearwire.net
    - Outgoing mail server: mail.clearwire.net
  • Logon Information
    - User Name: username@clearwire.net (where "username" is the name you chose for the email address)
    - Password: The password you set up for the email address

6. Click the "More Settings" button.

7. Click the "Outgoing Server" tab. Select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and click "OK."

8. On the next screens, click "Next," then "Finished."

Advanced Settings

Use these settings if you are using a company other than Clearwire for email but need to use Clearwire for outgoing SMTP mail.

1. Open Outlook.

2. Go to Tools > E-mail Accounts.

3. Click "View or change existing e-mail accounts" and click "Next."

4. Select the email account that needs outbound mail and click "Change."

5. Change the outgoing mail server to match your Clearwire account, then click the "More Settings" button.

6. Click the "Outgoing Server" tab. Select "My outgoing server(SMTP) requires authentication." Select "Log on using," and enter your Clearwire email account. When you're finished, click "OK."

7. On the next screens, click "Next," then "Finished."
